How to convert SVG to PostScript

Create PostScript output

Use PS when your receiving software or print provider asks for it.

Where a PS file fits

PostScript describes a page for compatible processing and printing software. This tool creates a .ps file; it does not send a job directly to a printer. Confirm that the receiving application supports PS before choosing it for your project.

Carry over supported artwork

Paths and shapes can stay vector-based where the format and renderer support them.

What to check in the result

An embedded bitmap remains raster content, and conversion does not make it a traced vector drawing. PostScript and SVG handle some features differently. Review text, gradients, transparency, and fine details in compatible software before sending the file onward.

Export the SVG page area

Your source canvas defines the page area used for the conversion.

Understand page sizing

The converter exports the SVG page area, including any blank space in the canvas. It does not automatically crop to the visible drawing. Very large canvases are normalized to a maximum of 4096 px on their longest edge, so check the physical page size if you are preparing a print job.

There are no printer, color-profile, paper-size, or margin controls here. Prepare the intended layout in the SVG before converting.

Download for the next step

Save the PS result and check it with the software that will process it.

Preview and download workflow

Choose SVG file, drop one .svg file into the upload area, or select Use sample SVG. The editor displays the original SVG so you can check its composition before conversion. That preview is not a proof of the exported file: the server removes scripts, external resources, and SVG filters, which can affect the result.

After conversion, use the Download button to save the result. Back to edit returns to the same SVG; Convert another SVG starts a new file. Where browser storage is available, a temporary draft carries your file between the editor and download pages for up to one hour after you choose the SVG. Refreshing the editor or download page starts a new conversion. Save your finished file to keep a lasting copy.
